Rules & how it works — World Cup tip 2026

Pots and stake are handled per league. You must be in at least one approved league for the tip to count, and you can be in several at the same time (e.g. one with friends and one with work).

• Create your own league: decide name, stake per player and payment method (Swish, Vipps, MobilePay, PayPal, IBAN etc.).
• Join: enter the league's 8-character code. The owner must approve you.
• Payment: Pay using the league's chosen method (Swish/Vipps/MobilePay/PayPal/IBAN). The owner marks you as "paid" — then you're in for real.
• Price lock: the stake in a league cannot be changed after the first player has paid.

⚙️ League settings (for the owner)

As the owner you can fine-tune what counts in your league:

• 🌍 Public league — listed on the Leagues page so anyone can apply.
• 🏅 Dream Team bonus — count the Dream Team pick (max +110 p).
• 🔥 Challenge of the day — count the +5p bonus for perfect tips on challenge matches.
• 🧠 World Cup quiz bonus — count half the WC quiz XP as bonus points (1 XP = 0.5 p).
• ⏰ Custom deadlines — set your own group stage/knockout/bonus deadlines (otherwise the admin's globals are used).

Three separate deadlines — so the knockout tip can be adjusted AFTER the group stage is done.

• Group stage deadline: last chance to tip all 72 group stage matches. Joker markings are also locked here.
• Knockout deadline: last chance to fill in/change the knockout tip (round of 16 → winner).
• Bonus deadline: last chance to tip total number of goals and top scorer.
• Dream Team deadline: last chance to build your dream eleven and pick a formation. If no separate deadline is set, the bonus deadline is used.

🏆 Per-league deadlines

Each league owner can set their own deadlines for their league (League settings). If they leave it empty, the global deadline set by admin is used.

• Your tip deadline is the earliest of the deadlines in all leagues where you are an approved member.
• Your tips count in a specific league only if you submitted them before that league's own deadline.
• If you're for example in League A (deadline 28 Jun) and League B (deadline 30 Jun) and you change the tip on 29 Jun, the new tip counts in League B but not in League A.

Current deadlines are shown on the start page and in the tip form.

• Correct outcome (1X2): 3 p
• Correct home result: 2 p
• Correct away result: 2 p
• Perfect tip (everything correct): 7 p (replaces the above)

🃏 Joker — double points on 3 matches

Mark up to 3 matches as joker before the group stage deadline. The base points on these matches are multiplied by 2. Max points on a joker match = 14 p (perfect tip × 2).

🔥 Challenge of the day

About 12 of 72 matches are automatically randomized as "Challenge of the day". The choice is predetermined (hash of the match number) — the same for everyone, no one can influence.

Which matches it is is revealed only when the group stage deadline has passed — otherwise everyone would have strategically bet their Joker on them. When it becomes visible, the match is marked with 🔥 next to the match number. If you get a perfect tip on a challenge you get +5 p extra (on top of any joker multiplier).

• Round of 32: 2 p per correct team
• Round of 16: 3 p per correct team
• Quarterfinal: 4 p per correct team
• Semifinal: 5 p per correct team
• Final: 6 p per correct team
• World Cup winner: 8 p

🎯 Auto-fill of round of 32

The first time you open the knockout tip the round of 32 is auto-filled from your group stage tip (top 2 from each group + 8 best 3rd-placed). You can freely change each slot after that.

Have you adjusted the group stage tips later and want to regenerate the round of 32? Click on "🔄 Update round of 32 from group stage" on Knockout page. Other stages (round of 16, quarter, etc.) are not affected.

🔄 Second chance

When the group stage is done you can update your knockout tip until the knockout's own deadline (typically ~12h before the knockout starts). The page shows a helper table of how the teams stand after the group stage.

"Goals in the group stage" is auto-filled from the sum of your group stage tips (home + away). You can change by hand if you think differently. Regenerate via Knockout page if you've changed the tips.

Build your dream eleven by dragging players from the list to half a pitch. You pick the formation that suits you best — 11 players total (1 goalkeeper + 10 outfield) regardless of formation. Search players by name, country or club.

📐 Choose formation

Five formations to choose from — listed as Defender-Midfielder-Forward:

• 4-3-3 — 1 goalkeeper, 4 defenders, 3 midfielders, 3 forwards (default)
• 4-4-2 — 1 goalkeeper, 4 defenders, 4 midfielders, 2 forwards
• 3-4-3 — 1 goalkeeper, 3 defenders, 4 midfielders, 3 forwards
• 3-5-2 — 1 goalkeeper, 3 defenders, 5 midfielders, 2 forwards
• 5-3-2 — 1 goalkeeper, 5 defenders, 3 midfielders, 2 forwards

You can switch formation as many times as you want before the Dream Team deadline — picks in positions that still exist are kept, the rest are cleared.

Points

• 10 p per correct player in correct position group
• 3 p per correct player in the wrong position group (e.g. you picked a player as midfielder but they were chosen as forward)
• Max 110 p total (11 × 10 p) — same max regardless of which formation you picked

⏰ Deadline

The Dream Team pick is locked at the Dream Team deadline. If the league hasn't set its own Dream Team deadline, the bonus deadline is used. You can change your pick as many times as you want before the deadline.

Results

Set by admin after the World Cup based on the FIFA Technical Study Group (TSG) report — the official analysis of the tournament's best players per position.

💰 League bonus

Only counts in leagues where the owner has enabled "Dream Team bonus" in league settings. If disabled, the pick is still shown but the points don't affect the league leaderboard — only the global one.

Prize distribution per league

• 1st place: 70% of the league pot
• 2nd place: 20% of the league pot
• 3rd place: 10% of the league pot

With equal points the one with the most perfect tips wins. If that's also equal the prize is shared equally.

🧠 Crowd Tip

A virtual opponent who tips the gang's most common result on each match. They appear in the leaderboard and show how "wisdom of the crowd" stacks up — but they can't win the pot. ⚠️

• 🐺 Underdog — perfect tip on a match where ≥80% tipped a different outcome

• ⭐ Joker Master — joker gave a perfect tip (14 p on a match)
• 🔥 Streak x3 — 3 perfect tips on the same day
• 🌶️ King of Challenges — perfect tip on a Challenge of the day
• 🛡️ Consistent — tipped all 72 group stage matches
• 🎲 Boldest Picker — at least 10 matches where ≤20% tipped the same outcome
• 🌳 Bracket Builder — filled in all 63 knockout slots
• 👑 Winner Picker — correct World Cup winner

• Level system — XP thresholds 50 → 150 → 300 → 500 → 750 → 1050 → 1400 → 1800 → 2250 → 2750. Questions get harder as you climb.
• 🏆 Leaderboard — global ranking by total XP. Shown on the quiz start page.
• 💰 League bonus — if your league has enabled "WC quiz bonus", half your XP is converted to bonus points (1 XP = 0.5 p) in the league.

• 💬 Comments — max 280 characters. Automatically deleted after 7 days.

• 📲 Share tip slip — each player has a QR code and a shareable URL to their tip slip.
